Filters and windows

Filters and windows

In optics, we use filters to achieve the desired optical results. In addition to IR filters made of germanium, ZnSe and many other materials, this also includes protective elements, such as optical windows, which protect valuable components.

Optical windows and filters from Pleiger Laser Optics

Optical windows are installed in front of high-quality components to provide significant protection. Appropriate materials are used depending on the load from the environment. For example, we manufacture IR windows in Suprasil/Infrasil,  quartz, silicon, germanium and sapphire. VIS windows are manufactured in Suprasil/Infrasil, N-BK7 and borofloat.

The IR filters of Pleiger laser optics are made of silicon, germanium, sapphire, IR fused silica and ZnSe. The bandpass filters are usually used for gas analysis (H2O, ethanol, methanol, formaldehyde, CO2, CO, NO,). Neutral density filters (grey filters) are placed in front of the sensors to reduce the amount of light on the detector. Long-pass and short-pass filters are used to block out spectral ranges.
