Silver mirrors are preferably used in the visible to infrared spectral range. This is where it shows the highest reflection of all metals. However, as silver tarnishes easily and the reflection decreases over time, we recommend always protecting it with a layer of oxide. This slows down the ageing process, but cannot prevent it completely. Silver mirrors are made from the following materials:
